Meet Jamie
I am a mother, a daughter, a friend, and your neighbor. For the last 37 years, I have served my community and surrounding areas as a nurse. Now I hope to continue to serve on a larger scale.
I was born and raised in a wonderful rural area of Sampson County, North Carolina. My mother taught school for over thirty years, both on the high school and college level. She instilled in me the love of learning and the knowledge of what is needed for our educational system in order for our students to thrive and succeed.. My grandfather was a farmer and taught us all what it meant to be an integral part of a family-like community. Through him, I saw the struggles that our farmers faced then and continue to face today.
I hope that you will support me as I run for State Senator.
Why I'm Running
I am running for the office of N.C. State Senator because I have seen our once united nation become a land of division. Everyone used to watch each other’s backs but are now fighting for control and power, paying no heed as to what this is doing to the regular citizens. If we are to maintain our strength as a state and regain our strength as a nation, we must become united again. Many people over many centuries have stated some form of the following, “United we will stand and divided we will fall.” Even the Bible warns us, whether you are a believer or a non-believer, that “a house divided against itself will not stand.” If we destroy ourselves from within, it will be extremely easy for the enemy that is without to enter and conquer us. Therefore if we wish to survive, we must become united again. I wish to be a source in reuniting the people of our state and nation, so that we can accomplish goals that will be beneficial to all of our citizens and not just a select few. That is why I am running for State Senate District 9.
